An ordinance to sale Town of Lake Providence property

 

At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, duly and regularly convened, at which a quorum was present and voting, the following ordinance was presented:

 

Whereas, The Town owns certain property located in the area known as the community center property and the trailer factory property. The Town has declared that the property described in this ordinance is no longer needed for a public purpose;

 

Whereas, The Town desires to transfer the property to an entity that will provide public housing;

 

Whereas, The transferee is committed to make a substantial investment to construct public housing;

 

Whereas, The transferee will also provide meeting rooms that can be utilized by the public;

 

Whereas, The purchase price to be paid by Buyer to Seller for the Owned Real Estate shall equal the sum of Seven Hundred Sixty Five Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($765,000.00). The Purchase Price shall be payable in immediately available U.S. funds by cashier’s check or wire transfer at Closing.

Now therefore, be it ordained that the property described below is to be sold for the above recited consideration.

All ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith are repealed.

 

This ordinance shall be effective 10 days after passage.

 

This ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting, which a quorum was present, after due notice, on this 27th day of December, 2018.
