Ordinance # 2017 Amending Ordinance #1990

 

An amendment to the ordinance to lease Town of Lake Providence Property known as the Pecan Orchard property on Olivedell Plantation at the intersection at Hwy 3181 and Hwy 134

 

At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, duly and regularly convened, at which a quorum was present and voting, the following ordinance amendment was presented:

 

Whereas, the town has previously declared the property known as the Pecan Orchard property on Olivedell Plantation at the intersection at Hwy 3181 and Hwy 134 was no longer needed for a public purpose;

 

Whereas, the town desires to renew the lease of the property known as the Pecan Orchard property on Olivedell Plantation at the intersection at Hwy 3181 and Hwy 134;

 

Now therefore, Ordinance #1990 is hereby amended to ordain as follows:

 

Now therefore, be it ordained that the property known as the Pecan Orchard property on Olivedell Plantation (60.396 acres) at the intersection at Hwy 3181 and Hwy 134 may be leased for commercial purposes/pasture land for $20 per acre per year, with that payment being $1,207.38 per year plus utilities. The term of said new lease is to be 5 years. Lessee is to provide liability insurance with minimum limits of $300,000.00. Any additional terms are to be negotiated by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.

 

All ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith are repealed.

 

This amending ordinance shall be effective 10 days after passage.

 

This amending ordinance was adopted at a regular meeting, which a quorum was present, after due notice, on this 14th day of June, 2018.
