    Regular Council Meeting Minutes
    The Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in regular session Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 5:30 P.M.
    Prayer was offered by Alderman Meadows. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Amacker.
    Roll call was as follows:
    Present: Alderman Meadows, Alderwoman McDaniel, Alderman Condrey, Alderman Madere, Alderman
    Magee
    Absent: None
    Town Attorney Brister was absent.
    Motion by Alderman Condrey, seconded by Alderman Madere to approve July 19, 2018, Regular Council
    Meeting Minutes, and July 31, 2018, Special Council Meeting Minutes.

    Motion carried.
    Finance Committee Member Alderman Meadows read the following report: The Town of Lake
    Providence Finance Committee met Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 3:30 P.M. to approve financial
    reports including budget to actuals and bills received for the month ending July 31, 2018. Members
    present were Alderman Meadows, Alderwoman McDaniel, Mayor Robert N. Amacker, Jr., and Lee Ann
    W. Clement, Town Clerk. General Journal entries were reviewed for the month of July, 2018. The
    following recommendations were made by the finance committee: for the board of aldermen to carefully
    review budget to actuals ending July, 2018, while noting deficiencies in revenues.
    Motion by Alderman McDaniel, seconded by Alderwoman Condrey to approve Finance Committee Report
    and all financial reports for the month ending July, 2018.

    Motion carried.
    Motion by Alderman Meadows, seconded by Alderman Madere to approve Resolution # 11-2018 – A
    Resolution authorizing application for FY 2018/2019 LGAP in the amount of $35,000 to purchase
    equipment and vehicles for the Town of Lake Providence.

    Motion carried.
    Alderman Madere introduced An Ordinance abandoning Town owned property at the end of Frederick
    Street of approximately 50 x 75 ft.
    Mayor Amacker and Board of Aldermen discussed clarification of Personnel Handbook approved June
    14, 2018, regarding vacation carryover. It was determined that an employee can carryover a maximum of
    one week or forty hours of vacation time into the next year.
    No action was taken.
    Motion by Alderman Madere, seconded by Alderman Magee to approve recommendation from Chief
    Threats to hire Roger Wilson, and Jason Richardson as fulltime police officers.
