Regular Council Meeting Minutes and Public Hearing
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in regular session Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 5:30 P.M. Prayer
was offered by Town Attorney Brister. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Amacker.
Roll call was as follows:
Present: Alderman Meadows, Alderwoman McDaniel, Alderman Condrey, Alderman Magee,
Alderman Madere
Absent: None
Town Attorney Brister was present.
Motion by Alderman Condrey, seconded by Alderman Meadows to approve March 15, 2018, Regular
Council Meeting Minutes.
Yeas: Alderman Meadows, McDaniel, Condrey, Magee, Madere
Nays: None
Absent: None
Motion carried.
Finance Committee Member Alderman Meadows read the following report: The Town of Lake
Providence Finance Committee met April 17, 2018 at 3:30 P.M. to approve financial reports including
budget to actuals and bills received for the month ending March 31, 2018. Members present were
Alderman Meadows, Alderwoman McDaniel, Mayor Robert N. Amacker, Jr., and Lee Ann W. Clement,
Town Clerk. General Journal entries were reviewed for the month of March, 2018. Deficits in the General
Fund were discussed, especially in the Police Department.
Motion by Alderman Magee, seconded by Alderman Condrey to approve Finance Committee Report and
all financial reports for the month ending March, 2018.

Motion carried.
At approximately 5:40 P.M., Mayor Amacker closed Regular Session and opened a Public Hearing for
consideration of Ordinance #2014- Providing for renewal of the levy and collection within the Town of
Lake Providence, State of Louisiana, of an ad valorem tax of five and eighty-seven hundredths (5.87)
mills on all the property subject to taxation in the Town for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the
year 2018 and ending with the year 2027, with 2.61 mills thereof for operating, maintaining, and/or
purchasing vehicles, radio equipment and uniforms for the Police Department and 3.26 mills thereof for
building, operating, maintaining and/or purchasing fire stations, fire trucks, uniforms and equipment for the
Fire Department, the renewal of such Tax having been authorized at a special election held in the Town
on October 14, 2017, and providing for other matters in connection therewith.
